Salary Range: $36-$42 per hour

Job Summary
The Registered Nurse provides and supervises care to patients in alignment with established policies, procedures, and regulations. The RN maintains accurate records, ensures critical care competence, and practices nursing consistent with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act.

Key Responsibilities

Perform assessments and monitor patient responses to treatment plans.

Prioritize patient care and respond to emergency situations.

Interact with patients and families to provide education and develop individualized care plans.

Manage patient discharges, including making appropriate referrals, teaching, and documentation.

Administer medications and treatments safely and efficiently.
-
Communicate effectively with physicians, clarify orders, and assist in treatments, procedures, and exams as part of a cohesive healthcare team.

Operate specialized equipment and supervise its operation.

Delegate tasks to ancillary staff according to policy, competency, and patient acuity.

Foster positive relationships with patients, families, and team members, contributing to departmental efficiency.

Maintain inventory and monitor supply expiration dates.

Pursue ongoing training to maximize skills and knowledge.

Guide and assist the nursing team as required.

Attend mandatory in-service training and maintain skills verification.
-
Adhere to Compliance, Safety, and HIPAA policies.

Manage and protect sensitive patient information.

Utilize and demonstrate knowledge of the EHR system effectively.
Qualifications

Education/Training:
-
CPR certification required.
-
ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of hire.

Experience:
-
One year of nursing critical experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure:
-
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.

Computer Skills:

Basic computer proficiency.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Demands:

Regular activities include standing, walking, sitting, and using hands for fine dexterity.

Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds; rare instances of lifting more than 100 pounds.

Work Environment:

Exposure to wet/humid conditions, fumes, moving mechanical parts, and moderate noise levels typical of a clinical setting.

Risks include electrical shock, radiation, and exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.

Ability to focus, perceive depth, and distinguish colors.

Close and distance vision for tasks such as operating equipment and reading monitors.

Ability to hear alarms, patient calls, and instructions from physicians or staff.

Frequent hand use for grasping and fine dexterity tasks.

Occasional repetitive use of foot controls.
